    Homemade Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer

    Jump to Recipe

This homemade pumpkin spice coffee creamer is a rich, no-cook shortcut made with just three ingredients: sweetened condensed milk, real pumpkin purée and pumpkin pie spice. It takes five minutes and adds cozy pumpkin flavor to everyday hot coffee or cold brew.

Unlike thinner milk-based creamers, this version is concentrated, creamy and sweet, so a little goes a long way. Use regular sweetened condensed milk or the tested Nature's Charm coconut version for a dairy-free and vegan pumpkin creamer.

    Why This Recipe Works

No saucepan or blender is required. Whisk the three ingredients together and the creamer is ready in five minutes.

Sweetened condensed milk does two jobs. It supplies both the creamy base and the sweetener, keeping the recipe exceptionally simple.

Real pumpkin adds authentic flavor. A thick pumpkin purée adds pumpkin flavor without making the creamer excessively watery.

    Ingredients + Tested Substitutions

The three ingredients you need for homemade pumpkin spice coffee creamer.

    Sweetened Condensed Milk

Sweetened condensed milk creates the rich, concentrated texture and supplies the recipe's sweetness. This is not the same product as evaporated milk, which is unsweetened and thinner.

For the tested dairy-free and vegan version, use one 11-ounce can of Nature's Charm Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk. I recommend this brand because its richness and sweetness worked reliably in my testing. Other brands can vary considerably in thickness, fat and sugar content.

    Pumpkin Puree

I like a thick pumpkin puree like Libby's brand. A thick pumpkin puree will impart a stronger pumpkin flavor without the extra liquid that would water down this coffee creamer. While I like organic ingredients, I find that most organic pumpkin purees are more watery.

    Pumpkin Pie Spice

Use your favorite brand or try my well-loved Homemade Pumpkin Spice Recipe. Pumpkin pie spice is primarily a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. Sometimes ground cloves are also part of the mix.

See the recipe card for full quantities.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer

    1. Combine: Add the sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin purée and pumpkin pie spice to a bowl or jar.
    2. Mix: Whisk or stir until evenly combined and no streaks of pumpkin remain. The dairy-free version may be especially thick when cold.
    3. Serve: Add 3 tablespoons to an 8-12-ounce cup of coffee and stir. Adjust the amount to taste.
    4. Store: Refrigerate in a sealed container and shake or stir before each use.

Make mornings faster: Divide the creamer into individual jars, adding one coffee serving to each. In the morning, pour hot coffee into the jar, stir and enjoy.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer Recipe FAQs

How long does homemade pumpkin spice creamer last?

Store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to seven days. Shake or stir it before each use.

What is the difference between pumpkin creamer and a pumpkin spice latte?

Pumpkin spice creamer is a concentrated mixture that you add to prepared coffee. A pumpkin spice latte is a complete drink made with espresso or strong coffee, a larger amount of milk and pumpkin-spice flavoring.

Can I use evaporated milk instead?

Evaporated milk is not a direct substitute because it is unsweetened and thinner than sweetened condensed milk. It would require added sweetener and would produce a different creamer. I have not included an exact evaporated-milk formula because this recipe was developed with sweetened condensed milk.
