While Starbucks rolls out the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte at the end of August, we don't hit the homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer hard in my house until mid-September or early October.
No matter how you enjoy it, Pumpkin Spice season always feels like it's a little too short. That's why we make our wholesome Almond Flour Pumpkin Muffins and Healthy Pumpkin Pancakes year-round!

How is Pumpkin Spice Creamer Different than a Pumpkin Spice Latte?
Our Pumpkin Spice Creamer is super simple, with just 3 ingredients, and meant to be added to your regular everyday coffee! Our Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte has 6 everyday ingredients, is a little milder (in the way a creamy latte is milder than a strong cup of black coffee), and uses only whole food ingredients.
I make both depending on my mood, and am most likely to use this Pumpkin Spice Creamer when I have less time for meal prep, like during the work week!

Ingredient Notes + Substitutions
I kid you not, you need only three ingredients for a delicious and easy Pumpkin Spice Creamer!
- Sweetened Condensed Milk - Those little cans of sweetened condensed milk are often super handy for holiday desserts, and it works marvelously in Pumpkin Spice Creamer! For a dairy-free version, use Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk. I specifically recommend Nature's Charm brand because the size of the can, grams of fat, and sugar content closely mimic traditional Sweetened condensed milk. That is not the case with some of the other brands (including the Let's Do Organic Brand) and I cannot guarantee good results with other brands.
- Pumpkin Puree - I like a thick pumpkin puree like Libby's brand.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice - Use your favorite brand or try my well-loved Homemade Pumpkin Spice Recipe.
See the recipe card at the end of this post for full ingredients and quantities.
Variations
The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity. Therefore, I do not recommend many variations.
- For a dairy-free and vegan version, check out the notes on Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk in the section above or in the notes of the recipe card.
- Consider adjusting the ingredient proportions to make it your own! Or add a little bit of vanilla extract for a smoother flavor.
Check our our wholesome Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe for a variation using espresso, steamed milk of choice, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice.
Instructions
There are only two steps to this easy recipe: Mix the ingredients together, and put them into your coffee!
- Pumpkin Creamer: Add all ingredients to a small bowl or jar. Whisk or stir until well-combined. If using sweetened condensed coconut milk at a cool temperature, the texture may be very thick but it melts right into your hot coffee.
- Pumpkin Coffee: Add 3 tablespoons of creamer to an 8-12 ounce coffee. Adjust to taste and enjoy!
Top tip
For near instant Pumpkin Coffees in the morning, portion the Pumpkin Creamer into 12 ounce jars with lids (I put 3 tablespoons per jar). Store the jars in the refrigerator. In the morning, make your coffee per usual and pour it directly in the jar and stir. Pumpkin Coffee in no time!
Recipe FAQs
Here are our frequently asked questions about recipe storage and product substitutions:
Store any leftover Pumpkin Spice Creamer in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7-10 days.
Both evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk are dairy milk products that have been heated until 60% of the liquid has been evaporated. The difference is that sweetened condensed milk is sweetened, and evaporated milk has not been sweetened.
You can use evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed milk, but you will need to add your own sweetener to taste.
As is, this Homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer tastes like pumpkin pie! If you like it a little less sweet, mix in some evaporated milk (unsweetened) in place of the sweetened condensed milk. You can also add a little bit of your regular coffee creamer to the mix.
